"The Kia Optima comes with a lot of amenities and outstanding a seven year warranty of the company, but it is not as good as the competition to drive and is only with an engine. "

the Kia Optima is a four-door sedan, which goes up against excellent family cars like the Ford Mondeo, Skoda Superb, Mazda6 and Volkswagen Passat. While it has a beautiful and spacious car, it is only with a slightly disappointing 1.7-liter diesel engine available. Kia Optima updated in 2016 to keep the styling fresh and a plug-in hybrid version, which should enhance its appeal is due imminently.
The engine 1.7-liter diesel Optima delivers 67.3mpg and costs just £ 20 per year are taxable, so the running costs reasonable. The performance is less impressive because although the 0-62mph time of 10 seconds is good on paper, the Optima has to be worked hard when overtaken on the motorway and is quite noisy when accelerating. It is also not as exciting to drive. With competition like the driver-focused Ford Mondeo, it would always fight, but vague steering and noticeable body lean when an underwhelming experience behind the wheel add up in curves.
Inside the Kia Optima has a well-designed instrument panel and standard navigation is a welcome feature, but do not feel, as as the latest Skoda Superb 'adult', for example. It is a very well-equipped car, but: the entry-level Optima 2 has a seven-inch touch screen complete with Navi, Bluetooth phone connectivity, a rearview camera and a DAB radio. Kia fits all Optimas with a leather steering wheel and gear lever, alloy wheels, air conditioning and all-round electric windows. An upgrade to the Optima 3 costs about £ 2,000, bringing a larger eight-inch touch screen, larger alloy wheels, lane keeping assistance and an updated Harman Kardon 10-speaker stereo system.

top-spec Optima 4 costs about £ 7,000 more than the Optima 2 and keyless entry and go includes a panoramic sunroof, xenon headlamps and a wireless phone charger. The Optima 4 also comes with a variety of additional safety features including blind spot assist, autonomous emergency braking and a 360-degree parking camera. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, with a seven-speed automatic optional spec on higher mileage.
The Optima not sell in large enough numbers in our Driver Power customer satisfaction survey in having, and 19th place (of 32 manufacturers), while Kia is relatively uninteresting, Kia a seven year warranty is the most generous in the market, Optima property should be a hassle-free affair. A five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP adds additional reassurance.

MPG, Rates & CO2 runs
-
the Optima good fuel economy, but rivals offer more
of 1.7-liter diesel engine delivers 67.3mpg and emits 110g / km of CO2, for an annual motor vehicle tax bill of £ 20 to the automatic transmission selector provides fuel consumption 64.2mpg easy to fall, and vehicle control, increase a band to £ 30 per year. While these numbers are not catastrophic, are the Ford Mondeo and Skoda Superb with a wider range of engines available that can most efficiently return of which nearly 80mpg.
In addition to Kia Magnificent Seven years / 100,000 warranty -mile is the Optima also with fixed-price service available that offers great value for money. A three-year plan will cost just £ 329, while a five-year plan is £ 609th With costs as low as this maintenance the Optima makes a good case for itself in this area.

Optima is responsible on the road, but it's not much fun
to goWhile the Optima has to be comfortable designed rather than exciting, cars like the Mazda6 and Skoda superb has excellent cruising ability with appealing handling. The steering of the Optima feels somewhat vague, making it difficult to set the car with confidence on the road. The recently updated suspension has to insulate a good job of you potholes and broken asphalt, but it causes the Optima too much to lean when fast curves.

the 139bhp 1.7-liter diesel engine Kia reasonable 0-62mph time of 10.6 seconds showing, but on the road the engine doesn 't feel really strong enough, and its loud character diminishes an otherwise relaxing driving experience.

Interior & Comfort
-
There are to provide plenty of space and the suspension is comfortable
the Kia Optima has a well-built dashboard with lots of soft-touch plastic, even though the overall design is less pleasing than the Volkswagen Passat. Everything is created useful and works intuitively, however, and it is a big step from the previous Optima.
Kia has worked hard to make the car as quietly as possible, much sound-deadening material to fit, to ensure that wind and road noise disturb as little as possible. The diesel engine is quiet enough when it down on a highway cruising and the Optima is a pleasant place to spend time is settled in for longer trips.

practicality & trunk
-
, the Optima has a spacious interior and a decent size boot
front and rear passengers in the Optima get plenty of head, leg and foot space, with a height-adjustable driver's seat makes it easy to make comfortable. The middle rear seat is slightly raised, though, so it is really only suitable for children.
The 510-liter boot Optima is a good size and while the rear seats offer 60/40 split folding capability, a being means sedan that the Optima as Ford Mondeo or Skoda Superb is not so convenient is. There is plenty of storage space, thanks to a lidded central cubby, a cooled glovebox and a folding rear armrest, complete with cup holders. The door bins are not big enough for large bottle of water, but.

reliability and safety

An excellent warranty and strong safety scores offer peace of mind
While the Optima has function any longer in our 2016 driver Power customer satisfaction survey, number 19 of the Kia (from 32 carmakers) was uninspiring, although this, of the seven-year displaced 100,000 mile warranty is every one of the cars of the manufacturer comes with.
Optima also scored the full five stars in Euro NCAP safety tests. All vehicles are equipped with an electronic stability control, a variety of airbags and a tire pressure monitoring system, while higher specification cars come with blind spot detection and rear cross traffic alert systems, more secure on highway driving and parking maneuvers, respectively.

price, price-performance ratio and options

the entry provides Optima good value and generous amenities
Kia Optima makes model range easy to understand, with the three trim levels readily available 2 called 3 and 4 . The entry-level Optima 2 comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, a seven-inch touchscreen navigation system, electronic stability control, hill start assist, a Bluetooth phone connection with voice recognition, LED daytime running lights and rear foglights.

If that is not enough for around £ 2,000 more the Optima 2 adds lane assistance, greater Navi and alloy wheels and a Harmon Kardon 10-speaker stereo system - upgrades that we think worthwhile. The top-spec Optima 4 is difficult to justify, as it 3 £ 5,000 more than the Optima costs, even if keyless entry, a leather interior and panoramic sunroof mean, it's a seriously well-equipped car.
