"The Volkswagen Scirocco R has a powerful 2.0-liter turbo engine and sleek look, but it is expensive and begins his Age feel. "

Volkswagen Scirocco R is the performance oriented version of the standard Scirocco, even a different vehicles to sporty as the BMW 2 series and Renault Megane Coupe. If you are considering a Scirocco R, you should look on the latest Audi TT coupe and the powerful (and modern) Volkswagen Golf R and Ford Focus RS.
The VW Scirocco R was updated petrol engine to 276bhp in 2014, increased turbocharged performance of its 2.0-liter. The facelift also aerodynamic blades' on the front bumper and aesthetic upgrades like a new spoiler and exhaust pipes added. However, despite these improvements, the Scirocco R already almost seven years now, and during this period performance coupes and hatchbacks have evolved a bit: The new Ford Focus RS has 345bhp, for example, while the Audi TT a has beautiful interiors on the Market.
The Scirocco R is still a nice car with excellent fit and finish, however, and a 0-62mph time of 5.7 seconds means that you do not want to stay for the final performance.

MPG, Rates & CO2 runs
-
Economy is appropriate for a car with so much power
If you are in the market for a Scirocco R, it is fair that the speed to say and driving thrills more a priority than frugality. Nevertheless, the Scirocco R should not break the bank in terms of running costs. If you choose a manual gearbox, fuel consumption of 35.3mpg is tolerable if the CO2 emissions of 187g / km mean you will pay £ 265 per year in road tax. The automatic DSG transmission improves these numbers easily: selecting this option provides rising to 35.8mpg fuel consumption, while the motor vehicle tax is reduced to £ 225 per year. Maintenance costs should be to make budgeting easy and sensible Volkswagen fixed price service plans.

motors, drive & Performance
-
to ride Fantastic fun but firm ride is hard to ignore
the Scirocco R has the same 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine as a Volkswagen Golf GTI, it although performance mean enhancements produces an impressive 276bhp. That translates into a seriously fast car, able to go in just 5.7 seconds from 0-62mph; this time falls to 5.5 seconds with the automatic DSG transmission.
While you're unlikely to need really more power, the type of benefit car means that many buyers of the Ford Focus RS '345bhp engine to be tried while the (cheaper) Volkswagen Golf R offers more performance and a faster 0-62mph time. On the road, the Scirocco R is enjoyable to drive, but the stiff sport suspension, it can sometimes uncomfortable, so check you are satisfied with this at every test drive.
Because it is based on the previous generation VW Golf underpinnings, the Scirocco R does not match the quiet, smooth driving characteristics of the Audi TT, while the SEAT Leon Cupra feels to drive sharper. The Scirocco R is not a bad car to drive at all; it's just that newer cars are better.

Interior & Comfort
-
The interior is a nice place to sit, but the Scirocco R can be uncomfortable
beSince this is the high-performance version of the standard Scirocco, Volkswagen has equipped rigid, adjustable Sport suspension and lowered the ride height by 10 mm. While this means there is almost no body lean in corners, even small bumps in the road are felt inside, and this can become tiring on a long journey.
If you are satisfied with this compromise, the Scirocco R is very pleasant to drive in general, with specially tuned power steering much "feeling" awarded by the wheel and easy to place the car accurately on the road.
inside the front sport seats are very comfortable, could be expected given at a time long trips, while the rear passengers have more flexibility than you low the Scirocco, sleek, coupe roofline. All switches are logical and easy to use, and although the Golf R has a newer dashboard design, still the Scirocco R feels pretty special in.
-
practicality & trunk
-
The boots is a good size, but it is high-set and awkward to load
The Scirocco R benefits from a 310-liter boot - not bad for a coupé and almost as much like family hatchbacks like the Ford Focus and VW Golf. It's a shame, because this alleged practicality that the Scirocco R-boat has a high, bulky hatch makes loading bags tricky. The rear seats fold flat at least yet, a 1,006-liter cargo space revealed.

reliability and safety
-
A excellent safety rating, but reliability niggles concern
While everything about the Scirocco R feels solid and well built, a 99th-place (0 cars) in our 2015 driver Power customer satisfaction survey not inspire tremendous confidence, while a 128th place vote for reliability adds further concern. Scirocco R owners can at least take reassurance of a full five-star crash safety rating from Euro NCAP.
-
price, price-performance ratio and options
-
good price-performance ratio, but the competition is tough
As the highest specification model in the Scirocco range, the Scirocco R can hardly be called cheap. But it is a high-performance coupé and feels very good from inside and out. All Scirocco R are standard with R-branded leather seats, 19-inch alloy wheels, bright bi-xenon headlights, navigation system, LED daytime running lights and adjustable sport suspension. Despite these bells and whistles and its sleek look, the VW Golf R and SEAT Leon Cupra cheaper to buy and are better to drive while the Audi TT feels more "special" and the Ford Focus RS provides better performance. With rivals such as this the Scirocco R is hard to recommend.
