"With an incredible handling and exciting performance, the Lotus Elise is one of the most successful and popular British sports cars of its generation."
With exceptional handling, exciting performance and unique styling, the Lotus Elise is one of the most successful British sports cars of its generation. The list prices are not cheap, but the power comes from a Toyota-sourced 1.8-liter 134bhp engine that offers impressive performance. Weighing 860kg, the Elise is some 300kg lighter than a Mazda MX-5, so it should not cost the earth to run - both the Lotus Elise and Lotus Elise Club Racer will manage 45mpg fuel consumption. This number is almost unheard of a sports car that can cover 0-62mph in just 4.6 seconds. The area was connected by the Lotus Elise S Cup, the combination of the unusual styling of the Elise Club Racer to the engine and mechanics of the Elise Club S.,

Elise will return 40mpg and is running surprisingly affordable
Once you get over the initial high costs Elise for the purchase, you will find it actually surpsingly affordable running. The fuel economy of about 40mpg may not sound so impressive, but it is ideal for a sports car like this. You will also benefit from a two-year warranty that can be extended at any Lotus dealer. On the other hand fairly high CO2 emissions mean that the annual vehicle tax can be very expensive.

few cars can match the Elise for character and fun
very few cars can match Elise, when it comes to pure driving pleasure. Thanks to its lightweight body, compact dimensions and and rear-engine layout, the Elise is incredibly agile and direct. It is almost a go-kart-like driving experience, as the steering incedibly is accurate and there is a lot of feedback through the wheel.
There are three models to choose from, but also the basic Elise feels fun to drive and exceptionally quickly thanks to the low center driving position. The ride is acceptable for a car of this type, but the cramped cabin can get a little tiring on longer motorway journeys.
The Elise S Cup, introduced in 2015, has a huge rear wing, side skirts, a front splitter and rear diffuser, but these are not just cosmetic additives. At 140 mph, more driven to 140kg this car is produced compared to the base model - y ou the Elise S Cup is forced to feel in the ground at higher speeds. Grip was never something that the base Elise was short and this road-going racing car takes it to the next level.
The S Cup uses the same 217bhp 1.8-liter Toyota Motor as the Elise S, and it is as resolute as ever. Since it is only 932kg to haul around, it is lively and energetic, challenge all the way to the redline push to get all its power. As might be expected, but refinement is not at speed large, with lots of wind and engine noise.
is only offered a six-speed manual gearbox in the S-Cup, but his short and snappy switching operation makes it to use an absolute delight.

Interior & Comfort
-
The Elise has a hard drive, but it is still quite comfortable
Once you manage actually get inside the Elise is very comfortable for such a small sports car. The wind noise is not too distracting, either, but the stiff suspension is a bit strange. Overall, the cabin is pretty bare and unspectacular, but everything is logically applied and easy to use.
There is also the option to add a Touring Pack, if you want even more comfort. These include leather seat trim, electric windows and other noise isolation. There are no signs of Navi or other devices on the list of options, though - that's stripped-out sports car.
-
practicality & trunk
-
first steps in and out of the Elise is no easy task, while trunk minimal
isOne of the biggest problems in the Elise is its poor practicality. A low ride height and wide sills make getting in and out of the car extremely cumbersome, and once you're inside cabin space is very limited. There is a small 117-liter luggage compartment at the front and the rear parcel shelf is not much, either. There is no glove box, only a hollow in the dashboard, and only a small cup holder is provided.
The standard sports seats hug you tight, but if you want an even better solution, you can add an optional racing seat with a four-point motorsport dishes in the Elise S Cup version.

reliability and safety
-
Robust Toyota motor means that the Elise is a long life
in the past, Lotus has been associated with poor reliability, but this is no longer an issue. The current Elise has built a stable shell of a mixture of aluminum and plastic composite. While under the hood, which is about as robust and reliable as to obtain engines 1.8 liter Toyota engine.

It is not cheap to buy, but few cars are more fun to drive
the latest version of the Elise is the refined and comfortable incarnation to date , At a price of just over £ 30,000 for the entry-level model, it is expensive for such an awkward and quirky two-seater, but few cars offer this combination of driving thrills, head-turning looks and reasonable operating costs. Take into account all of this and you will not feel too short.
