"The BMW X3 is driving a large and practical premium SUV that makes a great family car."

, the BMW X3 is a midsize SUV that between the smaller BMW X1 and larger BMW X5 models to compete with cars like the Audi Q5 sitting, Mercedes GLC and Lexus NX and the new Jaguar F-Pace. Although BMW all-wheel drive as standard fit, the natural habitat of the X3 is the street where it stands. It's not quite as comfortable as the more expensive Porsche Macan to drive, but it is still more appealing than competitors from Mercedes, Audi and Lexus.
While the X3 BMW adds kidney grille to a traditional SUV buyers for a bit more oomph can go for the BMW X4 Coupe SUV that tells the X3 mechanical underpinnings, but prioritized style over outright practicality
, the X3 comes with a choice of diesel engines: a. 187bhp 2.0 -litre called xDrive20d or a 3.0-liter with either 254bhp (the xDrive30d) or 309bhp (the xDrive35d). We recommend the xDrive20d, thanks to its mix of performance and efficiency. It is strong enough to get the X3 from 0-62mph in 8.1 seconds yet fuel consumption of 52.3mpg and CO2 emissions of 142 g / km (for £ 145-a-year road tax) are appropriate for a car of this class. If you want more power, the 254bhp xDrive30d 3.0-liter diesel engine has a lot in 5.9 seconds managing 0-62mph. It costs about £ 6,000 more than the 2.0-liter model, though, while fuel consumption of 47.9mpg and an annual road tax bill of £ 185 means it is more expensive to run well.
For a further £ 6,000 or so, the 309bhp xDrive35d M Sport 3.0-liter diesel seems expensive and somewhat unnecessary, especially when you consider it's only half a second faster from 0-62mph then the xDrive30d. While it offers similar fuel economy of 254bhp engine and continues in the same street-tax bracket, the 309bhp model is more expensive than the cheapest Porsche Macan, which is to drive and almost as fast better.
Inside, the X3 is well built and feels "Premium" enough, but it seems a bit newer cars like the Macan and the Jaguar F-Pace dated compared. Front and rear passengers have plenty of room, although, during a boat that is than that of the 3 Series Sedan 70 liters larger complements the family-friendly credentials of the X3.
sent on the road, which means excellent suspension X3 poor roads surfaces without fuss, while the steering precise and provides much "feel" through the wheel, the X3 remarkably comfortable and car-like making despite its elevated ride height to drive.
In addition to the xDrive 20d model, which stands as an automatic or a six ~~ POS = TRUNC manual transmission available, all X3s come equipped with BMW excellent eight ~~ POS = TRUNC automatic transmission. It works smoothly and the car goes well. If you go for the automatic, it is probably worthwhile to specify the steering wheel-mounted shift paddles. They only cost about £ 0 but - should the mood take -. Let you access even more with the great driving experience X3
BMW keeps things nice and simple just three trim levels for the X3, offer any of them poorly equipped. The entry level X3 SE comes with GPS, air conditioning, 17-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, Bluetooth and heated leather seats.
for £ 1,500 more than the SE XLINE trim adds larger alloy wheels and various design accents inside and out, with a chrome exhaust pipe and a larger selection of interior colors. Top-spec M Sport trim brings (even) bigger alloy wheels, a chunky bodykit, sports suspension and a luxurious interior.

In reality, the SE model is enough equipment for most, though BMW is like, you can add more kit from the extensive option list car. Be warned, however, that (as with many cars) if you tick too many boxes, quickly the X3 is indeed very expensive.
Despite being a five-year-old model, the BMW X3 survey also ranked in our 2015 Driver Power customer satisfaction, 24 come from 0 cars. X3 owners praise their cars' reliability, ease of driving and performance; only in car technology leaves a little to be desired, which is to be expected, as the age of the X3 begins to show a five-star crash safety rating from Euro.
