"There is no doubt that the Volvo V60 Cross Country has a certain niche appeal, but there are cheaper and more practical rivals"
Volvo has a history of building jacked versions of estate cars - the XC70 for - and it is in this context that it is easiest to understand where the Swedish manufacturer of come with the Volvo V60 Cross Country. Based on the same principles as the more leftfield S60 Cross Country is the V60 version against sublime rivals like the Audi A4 Allroad, the Volkswagen Passat Allroad and the BMW 3 Series Touring in xDrive shape.
One could also choose instead lose smaller, cheaper rivals like the SEAT Leon X-Perience or the Skoda Octavia Scout, although these are some of the exclusive appeal of Volvo. SE Nav and SE Lux - - If you go the V60 Cross Country, you've got the choice of only two trim levels. Of these both come pretty well equipped
get Models DAB radio, Navi, alloy wheels, automatic wipers, Bluetooth, climate control, LED daytime running lights and cruise control. Cross Country models have also accessories that emphasize its robust claims. These include the increased ride height, front and rear skid plates, a unique grille and silver roof rails
There are three engines to choose from -. Two 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engines - which come with 148 and 187bhp respectively and a turbocharged 2.4-liter five ~~ POS = TRUNC diesel, which also manages 187bhp. Both come with front-wheel drive as standard, although the more powerful version with all-wheel drive and automatic transmission is to have, which makes it more expensive to run, however.
Both orders come with a host of standard and safety kit, although Euro NCAP has not been specifically tested on these models, they are based on the Volvo V60, which achieves a full five stars.

MPG, Rates & CO2 runs

wheel drive Volvo V60 Cross Country models are expensive to run
entry-level 148bhp D3 Cross Country models with CO2 emissions of 111g / km, resulting in a annual road tax bill of £ 30 and will also return 67.3mpg. This results in a benefit-in-kind (BiK) company car tax rating yields of 22%. These numbers are exactly the same as the 187bhp D4 four-cylinder diesel, but add an automatic transmission change (either) and these figures to 0g / km CO2, 61.4mpg and a 24% BiK review.
go for the five ~~ POS = TRUNC-D5 - a six ~~ POS = TRUNC automatic transmission and all-wheel drive is - and you will pay much more in the running costs. The CO2 emissions are 149g / km, a road tax bill means of £ 145 per year and a BiK rating of 29% for the company car drivers.
Like all Volvos, it comes with a three-year / 60,000 -mile guarantee, which is only about the same level for the class. A BMW and Mercedes offer both unlimited mileage three-year warranty, while all Volkswagen Group vehicles (Skoda, SEAT, VW) come with the same three-year, 60,000-mile Agreement.

motors, drive & Performance
- [1945073Alle] the motors are strong types, but the Volvo V60 is not great to drive
We have only the flagship D4-wheel drive version with the driven 2.4-liter five ~ ~ POS = TRUNC diesel, and although they cost to run the most, it's a pretty strong performer. His power is distributed over a larger area of the speed range as one of the four-cylinder diesel engines and will do it in 8.9 seconds 0-62mph. In contrast, do the weakest D3 model the same sprint in 9.1 seconds. However, the lighter, two-wheel drive D4 version is faster to do it in just 7.8 seconds.
Under normal driving conditions, the D4 AWD is equipped with front-wheel drive only, but when those begin to lose grip, then the all-wheel drive system Powershift is back to help the car, access to regain. Not only does this help you keep going when the road gets a bit slippery, but it means increased along with the ride height that you can tackle a little light off-road, also. Another advantage of the increased ride height is the comfortable ride. However, this is not a car adapted to be driven quickly; the steering is a bit too bright and a little vague, while the brake pedal is not not give a huge amount of feedback, either, smooth to make it difficult to brake.

Interior & Comfort
-
There is no doubt, the Volvo V60 Cross Country has comfortable seats, but the interior decor looks and feels from
We recently spoiled by Volvo interiors rather; The latest Volvo XC0, S0 and V0 are all stylish and minimalist interior. The find in mind the chaos of buttons, switches and poor quality of the screens that you are in the V60 Cross Country is a bit of a disappointment. The center console is deciphered only, while the central infotainment screen is very difficult to navigate and the graphics are not exactly futuristic, either. That being said, it is all feels well built, and the quality of the majority of the materials is high
One thing, where Volvo has always been excellent -. And still does - is the quality and comfort of its seats. Fortunately, the Volvo V60 Cross Country is no exception. It is a very comfortable car to travel, ensure in, with great support and burden of adjustment that everything is set up to make perfect.

practicality & trunk

Rivals are much more practical than the Volvo V60 Cross Country
When most of us think of Volvo estates, we are probably thinking last in the practical station wagon - a box on wheels , basically - the load-bearing prioritized. Not so the V60 Cross Country. With only 430 liters of cargo room with the rear seats and in 1241 down with them, it is far behind competitors like the Volkswagen Passat and the Audi A4 Quattro Alltrak and smaller, cheaper competitors. These include the Skoda Octavia Scout and the SEAT Leon X-Perience. This small room is mainly thanks to the swooping roofline, the rear also affect the headroom.
There is, however, plenty of storage space in the cabin, with a large glove compartment, large door bins and cubbies much to the dotted inside. There are also cup holders between the front seats and a practical compartment behind the "floating" center console to store for changes or other loose objects. If you frequently tow, then both D3 and D4 versions can tow a maximum of 1,800kg, while the five-cylinder D4 ups AWD version to 1,00kg this.

reliability and safety
-
There gives the Volvo V60 Cross Country security credentials no doubt
A common perception of Volvo, which has not changed is the commitment to the security of the company. The V60 Cross Country gets plenty of safety kit, which it has helped garner a full five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP. These include the obvious things like tire pressure monitoring, stability control, a plurality of air bags, two car seat ISOFIX child points in the back and anti-lock braking system, as well as extras such as the City of the company Safety System. Characterized the car will stop automatically at low speeds when the car detects a possible collision.
Unfortunately, things are less rosy when it comes to reliability. Although the V60 finished 63rd in a credible overall (of 150) in our 2016 Driver Power owner satisfaction survey, it came to the reliability 127 .. Meanwhile itself came the Volvo brand, a, again decent, 13 of 32 manufacturers, but was allowed by a 22 square for reliability down.

price, price-performance ratio and options

Volvo V60 Cross Country is well equipped, but you pay for it.
, it should be recalled that the V60 Cross Country will start at more than £ 31,000 and rises to over buy £ 38,000 depending on the model. This type of pricing put it under some seriously stiff competition, and while you do a decent amount of equipment for the money, you can rent cars with more space, more modern interiors and more desirable badge for that kind of money. come
entry-level SE Nav versions with DAB radio, Navi, alloy wheels, automatic wipers, Bluetooth, climate control, LED daytime running lights and cruise control. Cross Country models also receive various external additions to its robust claims highlight. These include the increased ride height, front and rear skid plates, a unique grille and silver roof rails. Upgrade to top-of-the-range Lux Nav, however, and you get keyless entry, an electric driver's seat, 18-inch alloys, active xenon headlights and a rear center armrest with storage and cup holders.
You can also specify a variety of options and option packages. The Winter Pack - the heated front seats adds a heated windscreen and heated washer nozzles - is for the frosty morning. Meanwhile, the driver support pack is expensive, but adds an absolute ton of additional safety kit on the already impressive standard list of Cross Country.
