"The Suzuki Swift is a very inexpensive small cars with low running costs, which also fun to drive."

Suzuki Swift hatchback

The Suzuki Swift has never quite become a household name in the UK. The Opel Corsa and Ford Fiesta are to be usually the first cars many people think of when considering a small. That means the little Suzuki is often overlooked, and it is truly deserve a little more attention. It's a great-looking car, the drive is good, and there is a good deal cheaper than a lot from the competition.

This generation of Swift is since 05 in the UK, but has evolved, and has since updated heavily. We have the sportiest version of the Swift Sport, reviewed separately, but every other model in the range has its merits. If you are in the market for a fun, inexpensive and well-equipped small car, the Swift should be considered in any event alongside such cars like the Hyundai i20 and Kia Rio into consideration.

There are both five and three-door body styles to choose from, driven by one of two 1.2-liter petrol engines. Unusually, there is a four-wheel-drive version, but no diesel option. The 4x4 option is not intended to enter the Swift serious off-road capability, but it has been carved from the purchasers in rural areas a niche where bad weather and poor road conditions can lead normal cars to fight.

The 1.2-liter engines of Swift appropriate instead immense power - they're on the low operating costs than outright performance. As a result, they are extremely economical, with the Dualjet version return 65.7mpg. It is also only emits 99 g / km CO2, so you do not pay the vehicle tax. The only catch is that this engine can be selected only with the most expensive trim level, the SZ4. The SZ2 and SZ3 versions are less expensive but have less sophisticated engines.

The Suzuki Swift has a view of their own. There is a rather high car, although it does not feel at all heaviness in corners. In fact, it tracks around corners very neatly in fact, with a real feeling that the steering, suspension and engine all work together. The handling is very good and you get a sense of fun from every ride.

The interior is functional, if not made of the best materials. In truth, the Swift has feel a little cheap inside against the Ford Fiesta. There is not as much room in the back, either, but the front is quite spacious.

For an entry-level subcompact Swift SZ2 is quite well equipped, with electric front windows and mirrors and practical features such as a split folding rear seat. The SZ3 is our favorite, but with air conditioning and Bluetooth makes it a lot nicer with on a daily basis to live. It also looks smart on its standard alloy wheels.

There are no doubts that the Suzuki Swift cuts all corners in terms of safety. Despite its attractive price, it has seven airbags and a large part of the safety equipment of many more expensive cars. And although there are outside more spacious cars, fun, handsome fast making a real alternative to the norm.

In a parking lot full of fiestas, Corsa, i20S and Rios, the Suzuki Swift really stands out from the crowd.
