"This generation of Honda Accord is a good all-rounder, with a fantastic reputation for reliability and a smooth diesel engine."

During his time in the sale, the 08 - 2015 generation of Honda Accord got a reputation for outstanding Reliability. The respondents in our 2015 Driver Power confirmed this reputation it. Very not only for the reliability assessment, but as overall ownership rate also
When it was launched, hovering about the correspondence between the mainstream (the Ford Mondeo) and premium (BMW 3 Series) ends of the market and was essentially a compromise between the two. It costs more than the mainstream rivals but not the same quality as the luxury cars in its class.
There are problems with the comfort of the ride and the fuel consumption of the car, but the diesel engine itself is exceptionally smooth and delivers impressive performance, also.

when it was new, the running Accord costs remained behind rivals
the Honda Accord has never been a pioneer when it comes to efficiency and running costs and that is to improve even more the case now than engine technology further. Even the most efficient diesel version of the Accord falls short of its rivals, emit only 53mpg return and 130 g / km CO2. This corresponds to an annual road tax bill of £ 130
Although it was new, the best of his rivals easily beat this, and its more modern rivals are far ahead - many are now free from the vehicle tax.

not make the petrol versions for much easier reading, either. The areas of obsolete, naturally aspirated engines can only manage 41mpg and the thirsty 2.4-liter model can only manage 33mpg. This means that you pay between £ 180 and £ 265 in the vehicle tax.
If you buy an approved used Accord, you can add to the standard 12-month warranty for between £ 399 and £ 940, depending on whether you want to go for a 12, 24 or 36 months lengthen, while a used service plan will cost between £ 995 340 and £, depending on vehicle type, age and how many miles it is done.

motors, drive & Performance

It's decent to drive, but the Ford Mondeo and BMW 3 Series more fun
in the sweet spot is the 2.2-liter diesel with six ~~ POS = TRUNC equipped gearbox. This gives the best balance of performance, refinement and efficiency. The 0-62mph sprint takes only 10 seconds, and the force is distributed uniformly over the entire speed range, flexible performance.
It is difficult to recommend one of the gasoline engines - unless you must have the fastest versions of the car necessarily - as they run so much more than the diesel cost. The 2.0-liter petrol version manages the 0-62mph sprint in 9.4 seconds, the 2.4-liter version to do while in 8.1 seconds.
Try to avoid the five-speed automatic transmission. It blunts the response from the car, damaging the fuel efficiency, changes sluggish and makes the car quite noisy on the highway, too.
While the Honda not to drive as much fun as a Ford Mondeo equivalent vintage, it is still perfectly competent. He attacks well and the suspension keeps the majority of body roll in check. It is a pity, the steering is a little in the feeling is missing.

Interior & Comfort

entry -level models offer excellent comfort, but higher spec cars get firm sport suspension
The Honda interior, albeit very well built, really starting to show its age. The materials offered are not dated there with the best feeling in the class and the design now.
Getting comfortable behind the wheel is at least easy, but thanks to the good adjustment range of the driver's seat and steering wheel.

The basic versions of the Honda Accord are the best models to go if you are looking for comfort. Models on ES equipped with firmer suspension that alters the cosseting ride from entry-level models. The sport suspension makes the Honda more fun, though to drive, so we would suggest testing both to see which device you prefer.
The Accord is very quiet with little road or wind noise, and the diesel makes for its relatively poor economy to some extent with its excellent refinement on.

practicality & trunk
-
, the lack of a hatchback option limits the Accord practicality
with a decent amount of space in the back, the Honda Accord received five adults with relative ease, but we walk find room under the front seats is missing. If you want more legroom in the rear, the Skoda Superb is extremely tempting. It has the best rear legroom in its class and proposes many cars from the class above.

the Accord through his salon style is limited body shape (there was not a hatchback version), which means that it, how easily can not carry bulky items, such as some of its competitors. With a load capacity of 467 liters is space in the trunk is still quite reasonable, but the Skoda Superb trumps again with a 595-liter luggage compartment. Honda does give the car 60:40 split rear seat but that longer objects should not get in the car mean that hard. The roomier Honda Accord Tourer could be a better option if you need more space.

reliability and safety

The Accord reliability record is surprisingly good
One thing that you can be sure is that the Honda Accord will also be built, and the car arrived 40 from 0 cars in our 2015 driver Power survey, including a very impressive 19th place for its reliability. This is a nine-place drop compared to 2014, but the 2015 survey include an additional 50 cars, some of which are much higher. Areas that came for praise were reliability, comfort, in-car tech and build quality. Practicality was the category in which it lost the most ground.
was tested If NCAP Euro, the Honda took on a five-star for safety. The car is equipped with airbags, traction control, ABS, electronic stability control, and anti-whiplash head restraints. Spend a little more money, and you can also devices such as adaptive cruise control condition, lane departure warning, and a system to warn of an impending collision.

price, price-performance ratio and options

Either an overpriced mainstream family car or an inexpensive premium sedan
If you want a car that looks classy and is extremely well built, then the Honda looks like a good value because it is cheaper to buy than cars like the Mercedes C-class and BMW 3 series. However, it will cost more than many of its competitors in order to run.
Air conditioning, electric heated door mirrors, four electric windows and cruise control are all standard across the range. Move to ES GT and you get aluminum body inside, and a body kit and spoiler on the outside. EX models get niceties like leather seats, automatic climate control and heated front seats, while the top-of-the-range Type S adds larger alloy wheels, as well as bright xenon headlamps with automatic dip function.
