"The Honda Civic Type R hot hatch pushes the boundaries of what is possible with a front-wheel drive hatchback. It is grim quickly and more practical than its competitors. "

There is a new generation of super-hot hatch and the Honda Civic Type R has raced in shake things up. It goes against everything from the equally talented, even cheaper (and slower) Volkswagen Golf GTI and SEAT Leon Cupra 20 to all-wheel drive mega hatchbacks like the Volkswagen Golf R, new Ford Focus RS and Audi RS3.
the Civic Type R is located between these two sections of the hot hatch class 302bhp produced driven by a gasoline engine 2.0-liter turbo. That took the Type R from 0-62mph in just 5.7 seconds, a tenth of a second faster than the nearest competitor - can manage - the SEAT Leon Cupra. This makes it the fastest front-wheel drive car you can buy.
It certainly looks the part too. With an extreme-looking bodykit that includes deep front bumper, alloy wheels, many openings and a huge rear spoiler, there is no doubt that the focus of the Type R is the performance.

It's the same story inside , with red bucket seats, red seat belts and a wide range of type R badges and the all-important "R" button on the dashboard. The Type R handles really well for a front-wheel drive performance hatchback also. The clever suspension reins in torque steer and you can change the settings drive depending on the conditions.
The transmission is a joy to use, with a smooth and precise action, while the Brembo brakes are powerful. The only thing we want is to have a bit more drama out of the engine and exhaust. The switch to turbocharging has to the Civic Type R led some of its exhaust note losing character.
It's not all about performance, but because a hot hatchback has yet to be useful every day. This is where the type R is surprisingly capable. Despite his bonkers styling, it is based on the practical five-door Civic, which means that it will get a big boot and plenty of space for the rear passengers. Build quality is excellent throughout, also.

There are two trim levels to choose from - the standard Type R and Type R GT. The standard Type R comes with air conditioning, cruise control and a rear-view camera, while GT Navi adds, drilled alloy pedals, lighter automatic headlights and a whole range of security systems including blind spot, lane departure and forward collision warning for £ 2300 extra.
The Type R should run record, thanks to a good reliability be fuss-free and a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating. Just do not expect that the cost to be that low because of the type R delivers just to run 38mpg and costs £ 205 per year are tax exempt. In comparison, the SEAT Leon Cupra 42.8mpg 20 returns and costs £ 145 to tax each year.
