"The Honda NSX could this represent the future of fuel-efficient supercar."
It's been a long time coming, but the Honda NSX is finally for sale. Since it was first seen as a concept in 2012, little has changed in the styling department - and it is not a bad. On the outside, it shares design elements with some of its competitors, the Audi R8 and McLaren 570S i8 to the hi-tech BMW. It has the usual array of sharp lines, a low roofline and large alloy wheels, while ensuring a series of bright LED lights, it certainly looks the part.
But under the metal, it is quite different. The car was originally designed to be a non-turbo V6 engine mounted behind the front seats to wear longways. The car that you see here, has a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, mated to three electric motors that come together to produce a colossal 565bhp and 645nm of torque. The engine alone produces 500bhp while to 565bhp electric motors bring the overall performance.
The dovetailed neatly with ambitions to reduce Honda emissions and increase fuel consumption. And it is a showcase for the gasoline-electric hybrid technology of the company also.
What's for potential buyers more important, however, is the power to offer. Thanks to this 565bhp power and all-wheel drive is the NSX able to go in about three seconds from 0-62mph, while the electric motors help contribute to instantaneous acceleration, the NSX forward automatic with a nine-speed dual clutch transmission catapults. Two of them are in the front wheels, while a third is attached to the back, -. Between the engine and the transmission
We are still full specifications for the NSX to find out, but a starting price of £ 130,000 positions it in the same sort of price as the Audi R8 V10 plus and Porsche 911 Turbo while around £ 30,000 more than the BMW i8. For this price, with a full leather interior of the NSX is that the driver cocoons, a touchscreen navigation and infotainment system, digital displays instead of dials and a selection modes of driving available.
