"Competent on and off the road, and well priced, the Suzuki Grand Vitara is a useful budget 4x4."

If you want a competent 4x4, but you are on a budget, do not be discounted not Suzuki Grand Vitara.
The styling is nice and it is good to drive, while the interior well together and as attractive as the exterior. Unlike many similarly sized 4x4s the Grand Vitara has some real off-road ability, so it can be cut into the rough.
The disadvantages are that it lacks refinement and petrol engines are very thirsty.

MPG, Rates & CO2 runs
-
The petrol engines are too expensive to run
The 2.4-liter engine is to run expensive because it only returns 32.1mpg and 205g / km of CO2 emitted, so you're looking at £ 245 per year for road tax. The 1.6-liter is better, but not much: there are 34.5mpg and 195g / km of CO2 emitted, as road tax is £ 235 costs per year. The diesel is definitely the best bet, with 41.5mpg economy and 179g / km emissions for £ 0-a-year tax. Insurance ratings for the Vitara range of group 22 to 23, which is above average.

motors, drive & Performance
-
gasoline engines by diesel
Two petrol engines are available dwarfed be: a 1.6-liter with 105bhp and a 2.4-liter with 164bhp. The former is too weak and has worked hard to bring the car in motion quickly. The 2.4-liter engine is running responsive but expensive.
The 1.9-liter engine is DDiS turbo by far the best in town. With 127bhp, it's smoother and more economical than gasoline and performs strongly. The gearbox is a little disappointing, but as the gearlever feels heavy and clunky when shifting. The 2.4-liter petrol is the only engine available with automatic transmission. All-wheel drive and a low-range transmission using the Grand Vitara tackle tricky surfaces in the terrain.

Interior & Comfort
-
Firm suspension spoils cabin comfort
This is the Grand Vitara Achilles heel - it is not comfort or luxury is doing particularly well. The 2.4-liter engine is not too harsh, but the other engines are really noisy, especially the 1.6-liter petrol. Road and wind noise are also particularly evident in the speed while driving very strong, so that you notice uneven terrains.
-
practicality & trunk
-
of boots is large and easily accessible
Suzuki Grand Vitara offers 398 liters of cargo space with the rear seats in place and 758 liters when they are folded five in the down door model is not bad for a compact SUV. The trunk opening is rather high and wide, too, and makes loading easy. The three-door is not as practical as the five-door, as it offers only 184 liters of space with the rear seats and 516 liters when they are folded down. The storage space under the boot floor is practically hidden for valuables, but.

reliability and safety
-
inside quality is good, and the car has a lot of safety kit
the Grand Vitara a four-star Euro NCAP crash test rating awarded. Safety equipment includes anti-lock brakes, and front, side and curtain airbags. Interior quality is good and Suzuki has a good reputation for reliability, but not enough, Grand Vitara owner usually reacts have owners have in our current driver power satsifaction surveys.

Grand Vitara stacks up well against rivals from Kia and Hyundai
value is one of the strongest points of the Grand Vitara. It is very convenient and also stacks well against budget rivals Kia and Hyundai. Power steering, electric windows and mirrors, automatic climate control, 16-inch alloy wheels, remote central locking, CD stereo with wheel-mounted controls and roof rails are all standard.
