"If you are after a car for easy A to B transport, the Toyota could be Auris for you. It is practical, reliable, convenient and cheap to run. "

There is no doubt that the small family hatchback class is a extremely difficult question to excel in. But despite the fact that the Toyota Auris has many sterling qualities, it is not really outstanding, rather than to lure in respect to the all-round competence citing buyer.
Unfortunately, if you exceptional competitors like the SEAT Leon, Skoda Octavia, Opel Astra, VW Golf and Ford Focus and the Peugeot 308 and Mazda 3 are compared, you need to lift to beat. Here, the case for the Auris will fall apart a little.
Although there is very little, if at all, and that "wrong" with the Auris, there are no outstanding features that make it a desirable alternative to the make over rivals. It is not unpleasant to look at, but still has a very interesting design. The interior does not really inspire either, and there is to see some slightly suspicious materials, also. Meanwhile, the graphics on the various screens and even the clock feel outdated. It is not a very exciting car, either to drive, with clammy, vague steering and focus on comfort above all else.

It is not all bad news, but. The Auris is a fairly comfortable car and in terms of practicality, it is up there with the class best. There are 360 liters of cargo space on offer - average for the class - and there is plenty of space in the rear for either a few adults or three children
Under the hood, you can choose gasoline, diesel. or hybrid vigor. If you (an area where the Auris a little lifts) are according to the lowest possible operating costs, we would highly recommend the hybrid. It will return around 78.5mpg on average and has CO2 emissions of 79g / km, it is free to make of the motor vehicle tax. It is also an enticing company car, sitting as it does control class in the 15% benefit-in-kind (BiK) company car. The 1.4-liter diesel engine is also exempt road tax and in fact has slightly better fuel economy than the hybrid, managing 80.7mpg, but it is slow to go below 12.5 seconds from 0-62mph.
When the hybrid doesn 't appeal - it is not very fast (with 0-62mph below 10.9 seconds) and its CVT automatic can be frustrating - we would the latest 1.2-liter turbo -three ~~ POS = TRUNC recommend hatchback. It is much faster than the hybrid and still has pretty good running costs - 58mpg about management and emits only 112g / km of CO2, which means you only need to pay £ 30 per year in road tax. This comes as standard with a manual transmission, which greatly improved the driving experience
There are a couple of diesel engines: a 1.4 and a 1.6-liter.. We would recommend the latter as it is powerful, smooth and efficient and you just £ 20 cost per year remains tax-free. It will also manage 67mpg on average, so you do not spend too much time at the pumps, either
Of the five trim levels -. Active, Icon, Business Edition, Design and Excel, we 'd either Business Edition (as a company car) or Symbol recommend (for private buyers). These offer the best mix of an affordable purchase price and good standard equipment (optional equipment can seriously affect your business vehicle tax contributions have).
The Auris Icon gets 16-inch alloy wheels, DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity, a rearview camera, a leather steering wheel, a six-speaker stereo and an infotainment system with touchscreen seven-inch controlled. The Business Edition model adds Navi, cruise control and heated front seats.
Toyota's reputation for reliability is well deserved and supported by both a five-year / 100,000-mile warranty and a strong performance in our 2016 Driver Power owner satisfaction survey. The car came 59th out of 150 total, but impressed in terms of reliability - get 28 in this discipline -. While Toyota itself 16 of 32 manufacturers in total and managed an impressive fourth place for its reliability
ranged won security 't be a concern, either thanks to a five-star Euro NCAP crash test score and a shedload standard -Sicherheitsausrüstung. Of course, the Auris much airbags, stability control and anti-lock braking, while there are ISOFIX child seat mounting points on the two outer rear seats. There is also a seat belt reminder system for all passengers and a tire pressure warning system.
