"The Volkswagen Sharan is a sensible, practical and seven-seat able MPV, but it feels expensive compared to newer rivals."

Volkswagen Sharan is a MPV people carrier which has seven seats, a range of efficient petrol and diesel engines and a versatile and practical interior. It competes in a crowded market among competitors such as the elegant Citroen C4 Picasso and sharp driving Ford Galaxy and Ford S-MAX. In such a society, the Sharan begins a little expensive and seem long in the tooth, although it is still a viable option for larger families. Despite looking a bit edgy and uninspired, the Sharan is remarkable car-like to drive.
If you want to go with your seven-seat practicality, the SEAT Alhambra Volkswagen the Spanish sister brand is about the same price and provides a similar amount of equipment a little more flair - although the Sharan is probably its value better than to keep the Alhambra

Volkswagen offers the Sharan with a 148bhp 1.4-liter petrol engine and three 2.0-liter diesel, 113, 148 and 181bhp form. Gasoline is spicy and definitely worth considering if you do not cover a lot of miles, but most customers go for Sharan Diesel. We recommend the 148bhp engine that combines good performance with decent efficiency. Despite more power than has the 113bhp option, there is the same 56.5mpg economy and 130g / km CO2 emissions for an annual road tax bill of £ 110
The Sharan in three trim levels available :. S, SE (available with a Nav-upgrade) and SEL. The entry level S comes with DAB radio, air conditioning and a USB port, while the SE Nav upgrade (which we recommend) brings Navi, alloy wheels, a leather steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity and cruise control. SEL trim Top-spec adds a panoramic sunroof and other bells and whistles, but at about £ 33,000, this makes the Sharan an expensive affair.

in terms of reliability, certainly the Sharan feels well built, but Volkswagen reputation for reliability has a fall in recent years. In our 2015 Driver Power customer satisfaction survey, he completed 22 of 32 manufacturers, but can give a 27-space for reliability customers Denkpause Sharan
There are no such concerns about the safety :. The Sharan has the full five stars particularly impressive in its Euro NCAP crash tests, with an excellent 96% occupant safety rating.
