"The Skoda Octavia Scout has a raised ride height, four-wheel drive and body protection for those who are looking for a robust Octavia Combi."

Skoda Octavia Scout is based on the four-wheel-drive version of the Skoda Octavia Combi and adds a variety of auxiliary equipment, raised along with a hard-looking body kit and ride height to the standard car. During the Octavia Scout competes in a relatively niche market, competitors such as the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack and Vauxhall Insignia Country Tourer are viable alternatives, while the Subaru Outback, Audi A4 Allroad and Volvo XC70 are worth a look if you have a little more money to spend ,

the Octavia Scout is more of a road vehicle with additional support and increased ground clearance than a true off-roader, but it's a nice-looking car that seems to be good value in addition to its rivals. The fact that it is significantly more expensive than the standard Octavia Estate, although the optional all-wheel drive is fitted, is more likely to give pause to get you thinking when you consider buying one.
Skoda Scout has a 148bhp or 181bhp diesel engine. The less powerful car comes with a manual transmission, while the more powerful model only automatically. In a four-wheel drive car, both engines offer reasonable fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, while the 0-62mph time of just 7.8 seconds from 181bhp model is also quite fast.

Skoda Octavia Scout is more expensive to run than a two-wheel drive model
Because it is only available with all-wheel drive, the Octavia Scout uses more fuel and emits more CO2 than most other cars in the Octavia range. The 148bhp Scout is capable of 58.9mpg and causes an annual road tax bill of £ 110, while the 181bhp engine the same control thanks to its 129g / km CO2 emissions and delivering 56.5mpg costs. For comparison, a front-wheel drive Octavia Estate has is 70.6mpg return with the 148bhp diesel engine, while the 181bhp model still manages 62.8mpg. Neither wheel diesel costs more than £ 30 per year tax
Other costs of ownership of the vehicle even more impressive. Skoda has a three-year / 60,000 mile warranty with the Scout, and you can extend up to five years and 100,000 miles for £ 515 fixed price service means that the first two services will cost just £ 279, while the Scout should ensure rarity it 40 % of its value after three years / 36.000 miles reserves.

the Skoda Octavia Scout is an impressive performer
If you want a manual transmission, you need to choose the 148bhp model, while the more powerful 181bhp engine is only available with Skoda automatic DSG transmission. Both engines are smooth and quiet movement, although they rattle do a little during cold starts.
Whichever engine you choose, the Octavia Scout feels fast enough. The 0-62mph time of 9.1 seconds, the 148bhp model sounds not so fast, but it has a lot of power, and the highway overtaking easy. The 181bhp engine comes from the defined benefit Skoda Octavia vRS, so it feels pretty quickly - its 0-62mph time of 7.8 seconds Confirmation

Thanks to a sophisticated rear suspension system, the Octavia Scout feels very comfortable and-good way planted on while slender body in corners is minimal - despite the extra headroom. The all-wheel drive forces to the front wheels as standard ball with force to the rear wheels when the loss of grip is detected. While there is not a true off-roader, the Scout is more than capable, wet fields and rutted tracks is cruising.

Interior & Comfort

The Octavia Scout has a spacious and well-built interior
comes during the Scout with a variety of auxiliary equipment, the interior looks similar to the standard Octavia Combi. That's not a bad thing, how to obtain a solid, easy-to-use dashboard, high-quality materials is built and has a touch-screen navigation and infotainment system. The Scout also comes with leather seats, subtle Scout badging, rear parking sensors, cruise control and a digital radio.
It is easy to make in the Octavia Scout thanks to a height-adjustable driver's seat comfort, together with a steering wheel, as well as into and out fits and down. The increased ride height means visibility is improved over the standard car, while those of the optional parking assist system that can provide for an even easier life, the £ 450 and effectively parks the car will cost for you.

Because it is close to the top the range Octavia sitting, the Scout receives the same sophisticated in Skoda Octavia vRS found suspension setup. This makes the car more fun to drive, but it also has a great job to smooth bumps, so the Scout to drive more comfortable than the standard Octavia Combi. Road and wind noise are minimal, although the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack property is still subdued.

practicality & trunk

The four-wheel drive Skoda Octavia Scout a large tow car makes
the Octavia Scout estate of 610-liter boot is one of the best in the class. Only have the Honda Civic Tourer and Peugeot 308 SW larger Boots, but the Honda is more expensive, while the Peugeot interior not as well developed as the Skoda is.

, the rear seats in the Octavia Scout Folding reveals the same 1,740 liters of load space as a standard car, bang, both Volkswagen Passat Alltrack (1,731 liters) and Vauxhall Insignia country Tourer (1,530 liters) with respect to virtually boot. Further practicality is found in the boot of the false floor (which is perfect for securing valuables), while the front passenger seat can be specified with a backrest that folds flat to help, very long loads.
rear passenger room is excellent, the only limitation in the center of the floor is a pronounced hump, the footwell restricts something for everyone middle passenger.

During the four-wheel drive system weight and dents efficiency adds, it does increase towing capacity. The Octavia Scout is capable of towing 00 kg compared to 1,800kg capacity of standard Estate.

reliability and safety

The Octavia Scout is extremely safe and reliable
buyer does not have to continue to look as the Octavia Scout for peace of mind. The 11th place standard Octavia (0 cars) in our 2015 Driver Power customer satisfaction survey, together with Skoda third place (of 32 manufacturers) mean Scout property should be a trouble-free affair.
Reliability is another strong suit Scout: a five-star Euro NCAP result is excellent, while the extra grip means offered by all-wheel drive that you are less likely to find the car, such as slippery conditions crawling ,

the Octavia Scout seems great value when it instructs rivals compared
While a premium of around £ 3,000 over a two-wheel drive Octavia Combi with the same engine the Scout comes with a generous amount of equipment. It is worth mentioning, however, that the Scout over £ 2,000 more than a standard Octavia Combi with four-wheel drive will cost (although this is missing in the leather seats of Scout, increased ride height and chunky bumpers). The Scout is certainly cheaper than its competitors, although both the Opel Insignia Country Tourer and Volkswagen Passat Alltrack by a significant margin were.
Used values for the Octavia Scout are likely to be strong due to its rarity, although the Passat Alltrack hold its value better. Skoda offers a wide range of options for the Octavia Scout, including several storage solution packages, additional airbags, keyless-go and on-board Wi-Fi access.
