"When you need and have a comfortable budget, the SEAT Alhambra is one of the better ways to a seven-seat MPV." [1945075[
, the SEAT Alhambra is a full size seven-seat people carrier that in directly with the Ford Galaxy and Volkswagen competition Sharan - the latter of which is mechanically identical to the SEAT. Buyers need seven seats are spoiled for choice these days. The Citroen C4 Picasso, Ford S-MAX, Vauxhall Zafira Tourer and Peugeot 5008 can also bring seven - although they are below category vehicles. This means they are shorter by 20 cm and 10 cm or as the Alhambra so narrow, so that seven-up a little cramped travel. No one has the sliding rear doors of the Alhambra and Sharan, either
are in favor of SEAT's equipment levels (which are quite generous), his driving experience (the more involved, as one might expect) and its price. : essentially the same car as the VW Sharan, although, the Alhambra is almost £ 2,000 cheaper. If you are satisfied with a SEAT badge and not a VW, it's hard to justify the more expensive car.

SEAT offers the Alhambra with a petrol engine and one diesel - although the diesel is with two performance levels available. The 1.4-liter gasoline kicks off the area. It produces 148bhp, returns 44.1mpg and costs £ 145 per year in road tax. Spend another £ 2,000 or so, and you get an equally powerful 2.0-liter diesel, which provides an extra 10mpg in terms of efficiency and costs £ 15 per year less tax. Note that these economic figures for the entry level; higher spec cars get bigger alloy wheels and this car tax to increase a little.
The flagship 181bhp diesel is nearly as efficient as its less powerful counterpart, but you have about 9,000 of the Alhambra £ Add list price if you wish, in part, as only available with the top two trim levels is. A dual-clutch automatic transmission is optional with two diesel engines; this contributes around £ 1,500 to the price of Alhambra and dents its economy and emissions, but only 5% or so
These economic figures may seem average -. especially when on a diesel engine Grand C4 Picasso claimed 74mpg compared (and its road tax Outdoors status) - but it is important to keep the Alhambra fuller figure in mind. The equally powerful Ford Galaxy and Volkswagen Sharan offer nearly identical operating costs, which are pretty decent for the car of the size of the Alhambra.

Speaking of size, the dimensions of the Alhambra and near two tons of weight it is not a sports car is cornering, but it's actually quite pleasant to drive. The steering is precise, slender body is minimal and the suspension irons out bumps competently. There was a time when large MPVs, minibuses for remembering, when it came to the driving experience; the Alhambra are more car-like to drive (and give them their fault, the Galaxy and Sharan), as you might expect.
inside turning, you can find a clearly designed, find good -built dashboard and all major seven seats. The second row has excellent head and legroom, while the third row can easily accommodate children and even full-blown adults - on shorter trips, at least. The Alhambra also has a useful 267-liter boot, if all its seats are in position.
SEAT has five trim levels with the Alhambra. S starts process and includes a 6.5-inch touch screen complete with Bluetooth and voice recognition, all-round electric windows and parking sensors and 16-inch alloy wheels. For just over £ 2,000 more, SE adds trim larger alloy wheels, additional storage compartments, cruise control, upgraded interior details and a 230-volt power supply in the second row.
Connect, SE Lux and FR -Line Alhambra are very well equipped indeed. Connect gets you a free smartphone and part leather sports seats, includes SE Lux Power-sliding rear doors, Sport chassis, a panoramic sunroof, navigation system and full leather, while FR-Line prioritizes a sporty look and added 18-inch alloy wheels and some extra interior and exterior trim details (including Alcantara suede cloth seats).
Please note these models cost around £ 30,000 and higher, and also note that your trim choice affects which engines are available (we go into this in more detail in the next section of this review). Safety is ensured by a NCAP five-star rating by Euro, with outstanding individual evaluations for adults and children occupant protection.
