MG GS SUV ->

"The MG GS one of the best routes in SUV ownership. As long as you are happy with a relatively small boat and a gasoline engine, the GS looks good , drive well and generously equipped. "

MG GS SUV

of MG GS midsize SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle), the compete at first glance, with the Nissan Qashqai and Renault Kadjar. While MG GS is slightly larger than these two cars, then it is also around £ 3,500 cheaper - and provides a whopping £ 8,000 saving over the similarly sized Mazda CX. 5 At this price, the MG GS are compared below on SsangYong Tivoli and Nissan Juke from the class.

clearly a lot to offer as favorable route in SUV ownership, then the GS. Unfortunately, with savings as large as this, there are some sacrifices made - not least of which is the fact that the MG GS is available only with a motor

The turbo 1.5-liter petrol engine to the equipped. GS is fast, quiet and pleasant to use, but it is not particularly efficient. It delivers 46.3mpg and emits 139g / km CO2, as road tax will cost £ 130 per year. While these figures are not meant catastrophic, the MG GS is more expensive than the cheapest petrol-engined Nissan Qashqai running.

It is the lack of a diesel engine, which is most noticeable when. Both the Qashqai and Kadjar are with economical diesel engines are available, which are about 50% more fuel efficient than the GS and are exempt from vehicle tax, also. This means that the GS is likely to be a rare choice for company car drivers.

It is not all bad news, however. Assuming you are happy with the economy of the gasoline engine, the GS has decent performance. 0-62mph takes 9.6 seconds, and although the engine has to be worked relatively hard, if you want to make active progress, there is impressive calm in the city and almost silent on the highway. B-roads of MG GS is also pleasant to drive, with little body lean in corners on winding. Potholes and rough road surfaces are smoothed nicely at low speed, although this is less true when driving fast.

The MG GS look like a robust 4x4, but it is only as a driving car front - unlike the Nissan Qashqai, renault kadjar and SsangYong Tivoli, all of which are offered with optional all-wheel drive. Since most car buyers buy these cars as a two-wheel drive models, MG decision not with the GS to offer than a 4x4 course.

A six-speed manual transmission is standard, with a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission an option on the highest trim level. We drove the manual version, which was smooth and supple to use.

There is good news if you in GS step. The steering wheel and driver's seat provide plenty of adjustment makes it easy, convenient to get, while to obtain the rear seat passengers plenty of head and legroom. The interior design is pleasing, if a bit boring, and it feels much more modern than other guns like the MG3 hatchback. There are a few too many low-rent, scratchy plastics, but given the asking price this is reasonable and the MG GS feels a long life

A negative of the boot 'GS. With only 335 liters, there is considerably less space than in the Nissan Qashqai and Renault Kadjar while also the smaller SsangYong Tivoli has is to find nearly 0 liters more boot.

Despite its low list price, the MG GS comes with a lot of equipment. The range starts with the GS explore, while driving to the Excite model £ 2,500, and the top-spec GS Exclusive is a further £ 2,000 costs. All vehicles are equipped with alloy wheels, LED running lights, air conditioning, cruise control, automatic headlamps and USB port.

The Excite model adds a remote control, a DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity, a leather steering wheel, rear parking sensors and a reversing camera. If you want the top-of-the-range GS Exclusive you get leather seats (heated and electrically adjustable in front), navigation system, fog lights, roof rails and a chunky looking pages step to facilitate access.

We believe that the budget-friendly GS makes the most sense and the most appeal in entry-level keeps shape explore - although it is a shame that separately if you want certain options from one of the higher orders , are available this not in order of 32 manufacturers in our 2016 driver Power customer satisfaction survey came the brand fifth .:

in the UK, relatively few cars to sell despite a loyal fan base has MG and a good reputation. Security is more of an unknown: go to the GS nor by Euro NCAP safety tests, but we will update this review as soon as the data becomes available.

The MG GS is an SUV that offers a lot of functionality and features at an affordable price. It is also comfortable and easy to drive into town. MG SUV but let his engine down, because there is only one offer: a gasoline which can only manage 46.3mpg.
4 / 5
with a spacious cabin and generous standard equipment, the GS is simply the best car MG has produced since its revival under Chinese ownership.
2 / 5
While the low price, powerful engine and spacious interior can try; we find it hard to recommend the GS.
