The roof feels sturdy, but not quite follow the hatch of the roofline when it is raised. Leave it, and it looks a lot sportier. A permanent space for the roof in folding means there are no tricky boot separator and with it up there is only a fraction of more wind noise than the hatch at highway speeds.

The Golf GTI Cabriolet is an eye-catcher - plain and simple. We know aesthetics are subjective, but in our eyes at least, roof up or down, the latest addition to the GTI is stable, a well-proportioned and well-styled car. that's certainly won half the battle, then?
