"The Fiat 500X is a distinctive and economical compact SUV, which is surprisingly good for driving."

The Fiat 500X is a small SUV that offers the lift kit and visibility associated with a sports utility vehicle but the running costs you can usually expect from a hatchback. The compact SUV class is a competitive one: The 500X goes against the established and popular Nissan Juke and rivals such as the Peugeot 08, Vauxhall Mokka and Renault Captur. While the Fiat 500X in an area not exceeding, it offers a wide range of skills - along with its funky looks - it is an interesting alternative to its direct competitors make, as well as traditional family hatchbacks like the Ford Focus and Vauxhall. Astra
Fiat 500X offers two variants: urban styling and off-road look cross. As compact SUVs, the majority of their time on the road, the two-wheel drive 500X City look car, most buyers are best suited to spend. The off-road-look Cross model is worth considering if you probably have your 500X on lawns or from time to time (relatively) rutted take traces, because it contains either four wheel drive or Fiat clever Traction Plus system, adds additional support to the front-wheel-drive setup.

, which model works go easy engine options. The City Look-model has a 110bhp entry offered 1.6-liter petrol, which has the fuel consumption of 44.1mpg and costs £ 145 per year tax due to CO2 emissions of 147g / km. The more modern turbo 1.4-liter 140bhp petrol does something better, with economy of 47mpg and road tax of £ 130 per year.
If you want a diesel, you can choose between a heady 95bhp 1.3-liter and select an impressive 1.6-liter 0bhp engine. The two diesel engines are the most economical engines in the field, because they cost both returning 68.9mpg and £ 20 per year in road tax.
The 500X off-road look-cross has a slightly different engine range. You can still use the 1.4-liter petrol here, but it is with 140 or 170bhp available; the stronger this comes standard with all-wheel drive and automatic transmission, so fuel consumption is lowered to 42.2mpg and higher CO2 emissions can be seen £ 185 per year to pay road tax if you choose this option.

If you want a diesel engine, the underpowered 1.3-liter is the off-road look car is not available, but you can get the 0bhp 1.6-liter. There is also a 140 hp 2.0-liter diesel, which comes standard with all-wheel drive, returns 57.6mpg and costs £ 110 per year in road tax.
If you want an automatic transmission, this is only an option with the 1.4-liter petrol engine on the 500X City Look. The off-road-look Cross model is automatically only with the 170bhp 1.4-liter petrol engine and can be ordered with a manual or automatic transmission, if you go for the 2.0-liter diesel or 140bhp 1 4-liter gasoline engines.
Note that Fiat another type of automatic transmission with the 1.4-liter petrol engine used as if it. For the 2.0-liter diesel It is worth testing, the exact combination are interested in purchasing to check you are satisfied with the setup work for you.
On the road, the 500X, which is not exactly a sports car, although pleasant to drive. There are relatively slim body in curves and the steering provides good feedback so you know how much grip have the front wheels. It is also impressive quiet on the highway and the suspension does a good job of you insulated from bad roads and cat's eyes.
The 500X also has a pleasantly decorated interior, made with high-quality plastics. It is enough to be distinctively different, but everything works in a logical and conventional manner: The seats are comfortable, the atmosphere is light and the passenger compartment is generous. Boot space is also reasonable at 350 liters, although in fairness some conventional hatchbacks (like the Vauxhall Astra) more cargo space offer
City look 500Xs are in three trim levels :. Pop, Pop Star and Lounge. The entry-level Pop is quite well equipped, comes with air conditioning, alloy wheels and all-round electric windows, but this order is best avoided because they unimpressive is the 1.6-liter gasoline only and 1, 3-liter diesel engines. While Fiat individual options are inexpensive, it is not possible to trim Navi with basic pop to specify, as a standalone Extra.
Pop Star trim can be expensive, at £ 2,500 or so more than the standard car, but choosing this means all engines are available and adds a five-inch color touch screen, larger alloy wheels, rear parking sensors and fog lights. As is often the case, the top-spec Lounge trim is well equipped, but expensive -. It costs around £ 3,000 more than the Pop Star
The off-road-look Cross model comes with Fiat Traction Plus system as standard and is available in two trims available. The standard car around £ 4,500 more than the city costs look and includes 17-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, a five-inch navigation / infotainment system, tinted glass and rear parking sensors.

upgrade to the off-road look cross plus costs around £ 1,800 extra and adds 18-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights, a vertically adjustable boot floor, keyless entry and go, and a larger six-inch navigation / infotainment system.
in terms of personalization, you can 500X can adapt to your needs and tastes in many ways. Fiat has with the American tuning firm Mopar to offer over 100 individual teamed options. These range from the practical (bike carriers and roof boxes) to the purely aesthetic (body graphics and badges).
given realistic that most 500X owners their cars hold down the street, we recommend the City Look Model in Pop Star trim with (depending on annual mileage) to the 1.4-liter petrol or the 1.6-liter diesel engine.
While the 500X not sell enough in our 2016 Driver Power customer satisfaction survey in to hold the dubious distinction of Fiat upcoming 32nd of 32 manufacturers for the overall brand satisfaction. While reliability and in-car technology values were low, at least Fiat owner has their cars to run as cheap.
In its safety assessment Euro NCAP, scoring the 500X four out of five stars. This can unimpressive when five star NCAP toughest completed increasingly the norm, but these tests were Euro, latest regulations. The 500X has good for adults and children occupant protection, but was let out of its standard safety assistance systems down.
All models come with mandatory safety equipment such as antilock brakes and electronic stability control and a variety of airbags, but advanced security kit as Fiat autonomous emergency braking system 'City Brake "are optional and not standard. Fiat decision £ 0 extra for an alarm charge on all 500Xs is also questionable
