"It is hard to think of a more practical car than the Ford Galaxy. It's not the most elegant vehicle on the road, but it is surprising to drive well. "

If you're a Ford Buy MPV and need greatest make it , the Ford Galaxy is the one to buy. It is an extremely practical car, with space for seven people in a large, airy and relaxing interior. The car has many set as the default, and build quality and workmanship is very respectable.
Rivals of the SEAT Alhambra and Sharan Volkswagan include while Ford makes the slightly smaller S-MAX, the seven people although less comfortable. If seven seats have a high priority, you may want to consider the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Land Rover Discovery Sport if your budget will stretch it.
Most of the competitors Galaxy offer seven seats, but most of them do not offer the same space inside for all. The third row of seats in the Galaxy is capable of accommodating adults and children, the sixth and seventh seats is relatively rare. These seats handy fold flat into the boot floor when not in use, freeing a decent place for shopping, luggage or flat-pack furniture. If you want the maximum amount of space, the second row of seats can also be placed flat; Doing so makes the Galaxy as a van feel.

Comfort was clear Ford priority when they developed the Galaxy, but sacrificed the company has not quite the driving experience. The car grips well and not too much lean into curves, and the steering is precise and has a satisfying weight. The suspension is set up to absorb many of the shortcomings on the road surface, but it is not so soft that the car feels bloated and loose in the corners.
There are a number of petrol and diesel engines available. Petrol choices are 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter engines, but we recommend because of the extra low down pulling force a Galaxy to buy with a diesel engine. The 178bhp diesel is our first choice, as it is just as economical as the 148bhp version but gives the car a very useful dosage extra power when the car with people and baggage is loaded. It is not so much to buy either.
It is possible to order the Galaxy with all-wheel drive, but unless you live a trail or somewhere that it snows regularly, we do not think it's worth spending the extra £ 1,500, mainly because it has a negative effect on the efficiency.

available from the three trim levels - Zetec , titanium and titanium X - we would recommend the mid-range titanium. This gets you the satellite navigation, cruise control with speed limiter and lane assistance (which stops you accidentally from the road veering) and automatic headlights and windscreen wipers.
This is not that the entrance to say -level version is poorly equipped, but. All models get alloy wheels, DAB digital radio and air conditioning, as well as Bluetooth and USB phone and an MP3 connection.
Ford reputation for reliability has never been the best, but the Galaxy is composed of proven parts, for most bugs should of them now had ironed. In terms of safety Euro NCAP awarded the Galaxy five stars, and it comes with standard features such as seven airbags, seatbelt reminder horns and ISOFIX child seat attachment points, and electronic stability and traction control.
