"The Maserati Ghibli offers a good balance of stunning looks, comfort and economy -. Especially as it relates to a diesel engine available"

the Maserati Ghibli is a competitor to the executive cars like the BMW 5 Series and Audi A7, added to the style and powerful engines Maserati is so well known. The introduction of a diesel model, which uses a 3.0-liter V6 engine with 271bhp, it means something like the BMW 530d and thanks to the lush seats and high-quality interior is a real challenger, it is a comfortable highway cruiser, also ,
, it is just as much fun a BMW to drive like 5 Series, but for some reason they do not offer the same rounded package. It is certainly fast and the availability of two powerful petrol V6 engines with up to 404bhp well as the more economical diesel means equal power fans and cost-conscious company car driver responds. But it is not as quiet or refined on the highway as a rival, and there are some annoying niggles that carry over time. However, there is a certain charm of Ghibli and overall it creates both an appealing Italian sports car and a luxury sedan to be at the same time.

diesel version is the only choice for low fuel bills
As expected, the Maserati Ghibli diesel is the cheapest model by a large margin, the return to run 48mpg and 158g to emit CO2 / km for £ 180 road tax. It is not quite as efficient as the BMW 530d, but it is actually a little more efficient than the 3.0-liter diesel versions of the Audi A6 and Audi A7.
The Ghibli's V6 petrol engines are thirsty, with the less powerful version see 29mpg and 223g / km for £ 20 road tax and the more powerful versioning 27mpg and 246g / km, emitting 40 years account for a £. Maserati offers a decent three years / unlimited mileage warranty, but the maintenance bills will be quite high and insurance expensive.

motors, drive & Performance
- [1945086Lenkung] is great if you get used to it, while engines much punch
Maserati Ghibli larger pack based on the company's Quattroporte model, with the same suspension and other structural parts so it is already set to drive fun. Steering can get used to, but if one is to do it properly and satisfactorily. The Sport mode makes things even better, with very little body lean in corners and a nimble feel than the larger Quattroporte.

of 3.0-liter diesel version is not as fast as the BMW 530d, but it should feel a lot fast enough for most drivers. For thrill-seekers, there is a choice of two powerful V6 petrol engines sound good and very powerful.

Interior & Comfort
-
Surprisingly good for a sporty brand
the Ghibli is surprisingly smooth and quiet movement, the Maserati is large considering traditionally sporty brand. The eight-speed automatic transmission makes this car an excellent long-distance cruiser thanks to its seamless gearchanges, and the suspension is soft enough to absorb most bumps without jump over them or crashing.
order the optional adaptive chassis and you have a choice of suspension settings, with Sport mode, the ride noticeably firmer, but keep the car much flatter in the corners to make. The adjustable suspension gives the car two sides to their character and we believe that it is definitely worth spending money on.

The Ghibli's seats are soft but supportive to hold in place, but not squeeze your pages still space in the rear is affected by this sleek, sloping roofline.

practicality & trunk
-
boots is great, but the rear seats are a bit tight for larger passengers
Although Ghibli's 500-liter boot is more than enough for a set of golf clubs or a family baggage, it is actually 20 liters less than the BMW 5 series' boot. The Maserati interior is also quite handy with an air-conditioned glove box, large door bins, folding rear seats and a central storage cubby. However, the rear seats are not nearly as spacious as those in the larger and more expensive Maserati Quattroporte, so tall passengers will struggle to fit in the back.

reliability and safety
-
Unaudited reliability, but should safely and reliably be
the Ghibli was developed to achieve NCAP full five stars from the security experts of Euro, and it did just that when it tested crash. It features seven airbags, anti-whiplash head restraints and a rigid structure occupants in a collision.
Its reliability is not tested at the moment to protect and even though the Italian cars have a reputation for going wrong, Maserati's parent company Fiat does improve things for progress. The petrol engines are built by Ferrari - a company built with much experience high-performance engines - and trusted provider VM Motori diesel producers, they should prove both reliable in the long run.

price, price-performance ratio and options
-
more expensive than rivals - but also exclusive
Maserati hopes it will sell 50,000 cars by 2015 and an alternative to the BMW 5 Series and Jaguar XF diesel offer that dominate this class is part of that plan. The diesel Ghibli around £ 5,000 more than a top-spec BMW 530d costs, but given the exclusivity of Maserati badge, which is a premium to pay much buyer be ready.
The petrol models are not exactly cheap, but probably represent good value for a car that feels and moves like a real Maserati is still comfortable enough looks to use every day. The list of standard equipment is impressive, with leather seats, automatic climate control, bright xenon headlights, keyless start, a rearview camera and ventilated seats and a 8.4-inch touch-screen navigation.
