Review
Chrysler Ypsilon hatchback

reviewed by CarBuyer
- Excellent Fiat TwinAir engine
- In styling
- Low operating costs
- Poor ride and handling
- cheap feeling inside
- expensive
"The Chrysler Ypsilon high-spec and quirky styling are caused by poor road manners and a cheap interior in the shade."

The Chrysler Ypsilon is developing a five-door hatchback to compete with the VW Polo, Fiat 500 and Ford Fiesta. Despite an eye-catching appearance and unique interior styling, it falls short of the competition once behind the wheel, and is expensive. Interior materials feel cheap when compared to competitors. The Ypsilon is a 00cc two-cylinder petrol, a 1.2 petrol and a 1.3 diesel economic disposal. The small 00cc petrol is large in the city, but fights on public streets where the poor handling shows the Ypsilon.
The Ypsilon the only new Chrysler is you can still buy, but as a special order only under the Chrysler's withdrawal from the UK. This makes it even more difficult to recommend.

MPG, Rates & CO2 runs
-
the 00cc gasoline engine is very impressive
the cheapest 00cc TwinAir petrol engine returning 67mpg and 99g / km CO2 is capable. Road tax exempt, the smallest-engined Ypsilon makes the most sense for buyers on a budget. While the 1.3-liter diesel M-Jet engine 74mpg reach and is better suited to driving the highway, the asking price is significantly higher.

Best suited urban driving
the narrow body and the Ypsilon make small dimensions at short distances suitable in and around the city. Once on the street, but the small Chrysler is loud, and with such a soft suspension, it fights on winding country roads, very little grip offers. The 00cc two-cylinder TwinAir engine is very impressive, offering lots of character and a lot of mid-range grunt for safe overtaking.

Interior & Comfort
-
Poor to mention driving position and cheap interior
Chrysler, keen that the Ypsilon for such a small car, a new level of luxury features but in spite of the generous room and unique styling, the proof hard to find. contradict the bad drive and substandard interior immediately to the manufacturer's claim. In top-spec Limited form the Ypsilon is more convenient, but mean the high price and poor dynamic ability, there are many more qualified competitors, you should consider.
-
practicality & trunk
-
Five doors and larger boat as Fiat 500
with a slightly larger boat than the Fiat 500 the Ypsilon can carry more luggage, measuring 245 liters compared to 185 liters. All models come with five doors, it is to make a practical people carrier as its retro rivals. The Ypsilon can not compete with the VW Polo for interior, but.
-
reliability and safety
-
Stylish cabin feels cheap made
Based on the popular Fiat Panda platform and many Fiat 500 using parts that Chrysler Ypsilon should prove to be very reliable proven. The interior build quality remains behind its Italian cousin, though, despite the imaginative design, dashboard materials feel cheap compared with competitors. Until the Ypsilon is officially tested by NCAP Euro, it is difficult to say how safe it would be in the event of a crash. Worryingly, the Ypsilon is not with Dynamic Stability Control (VDC) as standard, but it is available as an option.
-
price, price-performance ratio and options
-
more expensive than highly competitive competitors
, the entry-level Chrysler Ypsilon higher than a lot of strong competitors priced, including the Volkswagen Polo and Ford Fiesta, the immediately will deter many customers. Mid-range SE models get 15-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, alloy and leather steering wheel, electric windows front and upgraded cloth / velor seat upholstery. Top-of-the-range Limited models feature leather seats and the fully automatic air conditioner. We would recommend the fixed Dynamic Stability Control (VDC) selecting an option costs £ 325th
