"The Mercedes B-Class is a well-equipped, luxurious, comfortable and practical five-seater MPV, but it's not cheap."

The Mercedes B-Class is an MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle), the more passenger space and a bigger trunk offers than most family hatchbacks. The B-Class competes with the similar BMW 2 Series Active Tourer priced and cheaper five-seater minivans like the Ford C-MAX and Kia Carens. made due to the higher price of cars from upscale brands like Mercedes, the B-Class ends about as expensive as a Ford S-MAX or Citroen C4 Picasso, which are seven-seater people carrier from the class.
If you like to pay for the Mercedes badge more, the B-Class is undoubtedly a big car. It is very well built, reasonably equipped, relaxing and comfortable to drive, and will not cost much to run -. Especially if you choose a diesel model

All versions (except the top model B220d) are equipped with a six ~~ POS = TRUNC manual transmission standard with a seven ~~ POS = TRUNC automatic is available as an option in 1500 £. There is even a fully electric version, called B-Class Electric Drive. This has a 124-mile range and takes less than three hours to charge.
Regarding the conventional engines Mercedes has the B-Class with two petrol and four diesel options. The entry B180 petrol produces 0bhp, returns 50.4mpg and costs £ 110 subject to tax each year. The performance is quite reasonable, with 0-62mph under 9.3 seconds. An upgrade to the petrol B0 costs about £ 1,500 and you get the same engine, albeit with 154bhp. Economy and emissions remain largely unchanged compared to the B180, although the 0-62mph time shrinks to 8.2 seconds.
The diesel range starts with the B180d, which has a 108bhp 1.5-liter engine. This is the slowest model in the range (0-62mph takes 11.6 seconds), but the 70.6mpg it returns is in order, as the annual accounts of the road tax £ 20 it is attracting. Vehicle tax is not affected when you spend about £ 1,000 to upgrade to the 134bhp 2.1-liter B0d (which we recommend you do), while fuel consumption only by 3mpg drops or so.

The top model B220d costs an additional £ 4,000 Either way, if you do get a higher trim level and an automatic transmission as standard. The B220d uses the same 2.1-liter engine as B0d, but creates an additional 40bhp or so. This reduces the 0-62mph time to 7.6 seconds, although economic and automotive control remain the same as the B0d. The B220d can be equipped for about 1,300 £ wheel drive.
On the road, the B-Class is relaxed, quiet and comfortable. It is not as involved as the Ford S-MAX or to drive a BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, but it is probably more luxury and comfort than most of its competitors. Avoid large alloy wheels indicative, as these easily affect the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, and affecting comfortable suspension also of the B-Class. "Body is slender minimal when cornering and although the steering lacks a little feeling that B is class more fun to drive than its high profile leads you to believe.
inside the high profile leads to a lot of space. front-seat passengers get plenty of space, but it is in the back, the B-class really impressed. the relatively upright seating position means footwell is plentiful (even with a six-meter adults sitting in front of you), while scope is as generous, and convey the large windows a pleasant feeling of airiness. interior build quality is spot on, although the infotainment screen sits on top of the dashboard, and looks a little like an aftermarket add-on. the 486-liter boot is large and well shaped, and can be made even larger by moving the rear seats forward.
Mercedes offers three trim levels with the B-Class. Entry-level cars SE with Mercedes come "Join Me smartphone app (you to unlock and find the car, among other things from a distance), 16-inch alloy wheels, a seven-inch infotainment system complete with Apple carplay, cruise control, air conditioning and a reversing camera. Sportordnung increases the size of the light-alloy wheels and the infotainment screen by an inch, and evaluates the interior a bit.
Top-spec AMG line trim adds a sporty body kit, 18-inch alloy wheels, uprated brakes and steering and other interior trim and upholstery upgrades. We recommend the B0d in Sport Rules for the mix of business, features, performance and affordability. the B-class has an average reliability reputation, although excellent safety thanks NCAP is a five-star rating from Euro.
